I don't let the fire end. I loop it back on itself.

I looped a continuous ribbon of molten gold, copper, and silver back on itself across a deep, near-black field, forming an infinity drawn in pure fire. I didn't let the metallics sit flat. They catch and throw light, so the flame brightens under lamplight and settles to ember by day. Inside the loops I kept the dark ground from going empty. It holds smoke, depth, and the faint red glow of heat that hasn't fully faded. This is the afterglow. The moment after ignition, when the energy has moved on but the heat still holds. I built it large at 24"x48" to command a wall. It hangs two ways: horizontal, where the loops read as an infinity, or vertical, where the same fire rises as a burning figure eight. Either orientation anchors the room. A bold, high-contrast statement piece for spaces that can hold real presence.

Why this piece works in a space

  • Large 24"x48" format anchors a sofa, bed, or mantel as the room's clear focal point
  • Gold, copper, and silver metallics shift with the light, the painting changes from day to evening
  • Hangs horizontal as an infinity or vertical as a figure eight, one piece with two compositions

Best for: Living rooms, Statement walls, Waiting rooms, Reading nooks, Healthcare spaces
