Breakwater

In Breakwater I captured the exact moment energy collides with stillness. I surged layers of deep cobalt, ultramarine, and turquoise upward in fluid motion, forming wave-like structures that feel both powerful and controlled. I made the textured white negative space above intentional contrast, not absence. It represents resistance, pause, and structure against the movement below. That tension is what gives the piece its presence. There's a raw, almost oceanic force here, but it never loses balance. It holds the viewer right at the edge of motion without letting it spill over. At 24x36, this piece commands attention without overwhelming a space. It works as a focal point above a bed, sofa, or entry console, bringing movement and depth into clean, modern interiors. A note on the surface: the white field carries heavy impasto texture running in parallel horizontal bands. This is not a smooth, resin-finished piece. I kept the surface deliberately tactile to echo wind-driven motion across the water. I included a raking-light detail photo so the texture is visible before purchase.
