I didn't make the current ask permission. It moves through the dark, leaves silver in its wake, and keeps going.
In Midnight Current I poured liquid silver through a deep black field, building a turbulent surface that reads like moonlight pulled across moving water. I ran the metallic threads in dense, ribboning passes, some areas erupting into fine cellular lace, others opening into broader washes where the silver sinks back into the dark. I made the contrast severe and intentional. There is no middle value; the painting works entirely in the negotiation between obsidian ground and reflective metal. At 24"x36" the scale gives the movement room to breathe, and the silver shifts noticeably with the room, cool and architectural under daylight, almost liquid under warm lamps at night.
