After I let everything burn off, this is what's left.
In What Remains I built a dense, atmospheric composition from layers of dark mixed media, blacks, deep grays, and flashes of iridescent blue that emerge like signals through smoke. I worked the surface heavily, with visible texture and material buildup that gives the piece real physical weight. It reads like the aftermath of something, what's left after intensity passes. I kept scattered points of light in it so it never turns heavy, suggesting that even in darkness, something persists.
